AWG Bassum is a 100 % subsidiary of the Diepholz administrative district and stands for environmentally friendly waste disposal and climate protection. The company's area of expertise includes the treatment
and recycling of municipal and industrial waste. Much of this takes place in the technical facilities of the Bassum waste disposal center (RABA residual waste treatment plant, composting plant, etc.).
In the residual waste treatment plant alone, the AWG team mechanically or biologically treats around 100,000 tons of residual waste for landfilling or further recycling. Some of the processed residual
waste is used to generate power in the company's own power plant (HKW Blumenthal).
The disposal area comprises the district of Diepholz in central Lower Saxony, where around 217,000 people reside. 140 waste experts look after a total of around 67,000 households and 3,000 commercial customers in 15 cities and numerous municipalities.
