General information about Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association (ÖBFV) operational clothing
The clothing described below conforms to EN 469 and ÖBFV Directive ÖBFV RL KS 03, which specifies special requirements for technical and/or fabric-specific performance data which exceed the EN 469 standard. The clothing combination according to ÖBFV is basically composed of a protective jacket and turnout trousers or overall. The textile protective jacket must conform to Level 2 of EN 469 regarding heat protection, waterproofness, and water vapor penetration. The padded turnout trousers or overall must conform to at least Level 1 in terms of heat protection and waterproofness. For water vapor penetration, performance level 2 is generally required. The operational bodice does not have any protective function within the scope of the ÖBFV Directive; it merely serves as a supplementary piece of clothing.
Bodice design (single layer - no lining)
Certified according to EN 533:1997 and EN ISO 15025:2002. The back of the bodice is equipped with a golf pleat, which allows for good freedom of movement. The yoke features two layers. Two pockets with flap are located on the front side. All closures are Velcro fasteners. A 5-cm wide silver reflective stripe is featured on the chest, back, and circumferentially on the sleeves. All threads and Velcro fasteners used are flame-retardant.
Trousers design
Certified according to EN 469:2005. The trousers have two thigh pockets and two hip pockets. A 5-cm wide silver reflective strip is featured on both legs. All threads and Velcro fasteners used are flame-retardant.
Overall for operational suit
Certified according to EN 469:2005. The back of the bodice part is equipped with a golf pleat, which allows for good freedom of movement. The yoke features two layers. Two pockets with flap are located on the front side. All closures are Velcro fasteners. The pants have two stitched patches with hip pockets. 5-cm wide silver reflective stripes are sewn around the trouser legs and sleeves as well as across the chest and back. All threads and Velcro fasteners used are flame-retarding.
