Fully automatic, independent of external energy supply, highly efficient and precise. Huge heat build-up during production, plus the necessary use of extremely flammable oils and separating agents: in aluminium production, there are numerous risk factors which could contribute to the occurrence of a fire. Highest extinguishing performance and self-sufficient operation

 

With the POLY CAFS extinguishing system, two forges, the press basement as well as the hydraulic room and mixing chamber for consumables are protected. 3,000 l of premix (water-foam compound mixture) are available, the system is operated with compressed air. It works fully self-sufficiently and is ready for operation in seconds. Bharat Forge places high demands on the functionality: quick fire detection, automatic extinguishing and complete independence from external energy sources was very important to those responsible. In the event of a fire, the flame detection system detects within seconds whether and where a fire has broken out with the help of infrared and UV streams. The extinguishing process is then triggered within less than 15 seconds. The extinguishing agent is subsequently precisely targeted and distributed over the entire seat of the fire through CAFS full cone spray nozzles.
