A real world premiere: For the first time, an AT is built on the dynamic Mercedes Antos chassis. This synthesis of Austrian and German engineering excellence was conceived for the Daimler AG plant fire brigade. Six ATs were supplied as rescue fire trucks to Germany for use at the Stuttgart-Untertürkheim and Sindelfingen plants. Thus, in a way, the AT has returned to its 'mothership', so to speak!
This truck chassis has been manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 2012. Rosenbauer has made the decision to develop the AT on the Antos chassis for the first time particularly to optimally meet the specific and unique needs of German firefighters. That convinced the Daimler plant fire brigade: "Seven of our 19 emergency vehicles are already manufactured by Rosenbauer. The new AT with its chassis variant offers a great deal of options for a high degree of variability and customization. Very important to us was the implementation of the EURO 6 emissions standard. In addition, the chassis with its smaller cab has better access through the backward-sloping steps. Overall, with this chassis, optimum space, weight distribution, and driving safety can be achieved."
The new ATs are required at the Mercedes factory premises in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim and Sindelfingen, particularly for technical missions and fire situations. Not only do they comply with the standard for German rescue assistance vehicles, but they contain equipment which also significantly exceeds the requirements:
Rosenbauer and Mercedes-Benz - this is where leading innovators in their fields meet. Rosenbauer's premium class of rescue firetrucks, combined with Mercedes' truck milestone, provides a customized AT for the individual requirements of the German plant fire brigade. "The absolute highlight of the new HLF is the central water axis, which was combined with a 'rapid intervention hose reel water supply' just for us. With this, Rosenbauer has developed a perfectly coordinated solutionon for the water supply system in our factory," said the plant fire brigade of Daimler AG.
