The enlarged Neidling plant opens its doors

The enlarged plant in Neidling opened its doors to interested visitors on October 4-5 under the motto, “The Best From Three Decades. The Compact Line”. In addition to tours of the plant, the guests were able to see the milestones in the development of compact vehicle design from 1990 to 2013 and in the course of an informative presentation were offered a look at the firefighting technology future.

A competence center for the Compact Line Series and the COMFORT stowage system

Since the takeover of the Neidling plant in Lower Austria in 1990, the compact fire truck segment has formed the manufacturing focus. In particular, the development of the Compact Line Series in 2003-2005 has become a major success story that has resulted in extensive investment in plant enlargement and increased production.

The design concept of the Compact Line, which consists of small fire trucks in a range up to 13t, creates a large amount of space for both crew and equipment in combination with compact dimensions and low vehicle weight.

At the same time, the Neidling location has developed into a competence center for the COMFORT stowage system. This in-house Rosenbauer development is characterized by the safe, simple and ergonomic use of equipment and technical devices, as well as a comprehensive component program.

In addition, Neidling possesses fully equipped workshops and serves as a service and sales base for the Lower Austria fire services.

More room for innovation

This year’s enlargement represents the highpoint of plant expansion. A new profile and logistics center has been created along with supplementary production areas. The current workforce in Neidling of around 200 is delighted at the prospect of more than 5,400 m² of additional hall capacity and roughly 1,500 m² of extra covered space.
