The ARGUS Mi-TIC thermal imaging camera combines many good features that fire fighters highly value in operation: it is small and handy, extremely light and very robust. It is equipped with state-of-the-art thermal imaging technology and also has a high-definition display. Its operation is very simple and straightforward. And it makes operations for fire fighters much easier. All of these benefits have made the ARGUS Mi-TIC one of the most popular thermal imaging camera's in the fire fighting sector.

 

Three new models have been added to the existing two models.
As a result, the ARGUS Mi-TIC product range offers full flexibility as regards usability and display resolution: both versions of the camera - with single-button operation or three-button operation – are available immediately, both with higher as well as lower resolution.

ARGUS models with single-button operation (Mi-TIC 160-1, 320-1, 320-1 NFPA)
can simply be turned on – the camera takes care of everything else. In fixed SEARCH color mode, the relative hottest area is colored yellow-red on the display, regardless of whether it is a heat source of a missing person in the open. So when searching for missing persons or during post fire tasks, the SEARCH mode provides very good service.

The models with three-button operation (Mi-TIC 160-3, Mi-TIC 320-3 NFPA) have more functions: For one, there is a zoom function (2x and 4x) to be able to see details on scene. The freeze function (freeze image) is used in order to safely see around corners. Also, switching between two color representations is possible: In addition to the SEARCH mode there is a FIRE mode, in which objects from a temperature of approximately 300 °C are colored yellow/red. This allows you to recognize potentially dangerous objects very quickly. The rest of the image is represented in shades of gray. This representation has proven itself best in fires.

Even more functions with the options pack

On request, the functional scope of the three-button models of the ARGUS Mi-TIC can be expanded with the Image & Video options pack. Images can be saved, blackbox recording enabled and so can automatic video recording as soon as the thermal imaging camera is activated. The data can easily be downloaded to a PC via USB cable - just like any other digital camera. Through individual key allocation, each key can be assigned the desired function. Thus allowing the operation of the ARGUS Mi-TIC to be optimally matched to personal requirements. On request, the ARGUS Mi-TIC can also be retrofitted with an LED search lamp with or without an integrated laser pointer.

NFPA Certification

Two models of the new ARGUS Mi-TIC series are NFPA-certified (Mi-TIC 320-1 NFPA; Mi-TIC 320-3 NFPA). The NFPA 1801:2013 standard is one of the most thorough and extensive inspections for thermal imaging cameras in the world. This standard serves especially and exclusively for the inspection of thermal imaging cameras that are used by fire departments. The image quality and the representation of heat source is just as important as, for example, ease of operation and the ruggedness of the device. In contrast to many other thermal imaging cameras, the ARGUS Mi-TIC meets the high requirements of this standard and also has the corresponding certification.

 

Ex-protection for all ARGUS Mi-TIC models

All models of the ARGUS Mi-TIC are explosion-proof and meet the ANSI/ISA 12.12.01:2007 Class 1, Division 2, Groups C, D, T4, -25 °C to +70 °C standard. Special lithium iron phosphate rechargeable batteries provide power. They can withstand very high temperatures, as those in fire operations. Other rechargeable batteries, such as often used lithium ion batteries, for example, are less resistant to heat and can occasionally even become dangerous at temperatures below 100 °C.

 

Simple, intuitive and effective operation

All models of the ARGUS Mi-TIC range are characterized by their ease of use and can be operated with just one hand and while wearing gloves, of course. Thanks to its compact size, the camera fits in the pockets of protective clothing without any problem. Even the low weight (760 g) of the camera is a huge benefit in operation, when every gram counts.

Speed and safety are two extremely important factors in operation. Through the use of a thermal imaging camera, you can proceed both more quickly as well as more safely. Potential hazards can be recognized better or even altogether, and injured people can be found more quickly. In a completely smoke-filled room, you can see nothing with the naked eye. One look at the display of the ARGUS Mi-TIC provides fire fighters with important information, for example, whether there is a dangerous source of fire behind the door to the nearest room. Hot spots, seats and sources of fire can be localized very quickly. Better orientation also means that injuries through falling or stumbling can be avoided. Also through the use of the thermal imaging camera, you can better estimate where an extinguishing effect has already been achieved and where it hasn't.

Regardless of whether a person is being searched for in a burning building or in the open, a lot of time can be gained through the use of the thermal imaging camera.
