Equipment handling systems from the ROSENBAUER COMFORT product programme are characterised by integrated drives for the safe and simple manipulation of heavy equipment, units and mobile extinguishing systems.

COMFORT ladder lowering device
The COMFORT ladder lowering device is a safe to operate, electrical system. It is used to hold 2- and 3-section extension and scaling ladders, as well as suction hoses and other items of equipment. However, its prime function is simple ladder loading and unloading.

Compact dimensions
The COMFORT ladder lowering device is universal and does not require any preparation of the vehicle for mounting. With a frame length of 2,950 mm and a cradle length of 5,000 mm, this versatile system can be employed on any standard fire brigade vehicle superstructure.

More room for loading
As a result of a height of just 190 mm, the system offers more room for loading (e.g. two ladders can be stacked on top of each other). The ladder cradle widths of 500, 540 and 600 mm permit optimised, space-saving roof loading, as well as the additional storage of suction hoses along the sides.

The high load bearing capacity of up to 150 kg allows the addition of, e.g. suction hoses or a second ladder, whereby the accessories on offer mean that these items to be individually loaded and unloaded without any complications.

Press button run-out
The extension ladders and hoses are loaded into the aluminium cradle. This can be run out from the back of the vehicle electrically, by means of a toothed rack and is then lowered using spring suspension into an ergonomic position for ladder removal by means of press button control.

Safe and ergonomic loading and unloading
Safety and ergonomics for the fire-fighter represented the absolute top priority during the development of the COMFORT ladder lowering system. Consequently, as a result of a final cradle position below 30°, there is little physical effort involved for the fire-fighter. The electrical drive is also safely hidden, which is another safety plus.
