The ROSENBAUER CLASS-A proportioning system
is designed to admix foam agent to extinguish class-A fire
in a better way. Apart from the well-known facts of the fire
extinguishing performances of foam, in fact the cooling effect
and separation of oxygen and the burning material, is the reduction
of the surface tension of water a further advantage of class-A
foam. This low surface tension allows a high penetration of
the burning material by the water of the foam. Another great
feature of class-A foam is the very high affinity to the carbon-atoms
of the burning material. The ROSENBAUER CLASS-A proportioning
system is conceived to admix the class-A specific foam proportioning
rate form about 1%. Proportioning rates below 1% (e.g. 0,1%,
0,2%....) can also be admixed with the ROSENBAUER CLASS-A proportioning
system.

The result of using the ROSENBAUER CLASS-A proportioning
system is a reduction of extinguishing time and extinguishing agent
volume at all class-A fires.

| Technical
data |
The continuous measurement of the volumetric flow
of the extinguishing water at the class-A foam outlet
is an integrated component of the ROSENBAUER CLASS-A
proportioning system. An electronic control unit works
out the volume of the admixed foam agent cyclically,
depending on the adjusted admixing rate and the delivery
rate of extinguishing water. The speed of the driving
engine and in the following the delivery rate of the
foam agent pump is controlled by the electronic control
unit. The foam agent pump delivers the foam concentrate
to the class-A outlet and ensures the differential
pressure to inject the foam agent into the extinguishing
water.
The ROSENBAUER CLASS-A proportioning system enables
to generate foam on the NP and HP level. In case of
using foam on the HP level the whole output rate of
pure extinguishing water can be taken off at the NP
level for other fire- fighting operations.
