Compressed Air Foam Systems (CAFS)
by ROSENBAUER

CAFS (compressed air foam system) used along with CLASS A (Fire Classification A) or AFFF foam compound (Fire Classification A / B) opens up fully new perspectives in firefighting.

The water/foam compound mix is expanded under pressure, using compressed air to create compressed air foam (CAF).

Benefits:
  • Safe isolation:
The excellent film-forming capacity and the highly stable foam cover isolate the fuel from the oxygen in the air for a sustained period (High Density Foam).
  • Excellent adhesion:
The large surface area of the small foam bubbles help the extinguishing agent adhere to the fuel - even on vertical surfaces (Vertical Film).
  • Excellent throw range:
Rapid expansion of the compressed foam drastically increases the exit speed of the foam at the nozzle, thus improving the throw range (High Speed Foam).
  • Light hose:
The air contained in the extinguishing foam reduces the weight of the firefighting line. This is particularly important when using flat hoses.

Water still remains the most important extinguishing agent – we make the most of it.
