| On May 13, 2004, the AMI Agrolinz Melamine International GmbH industrial fire brigade from the company’s location in Linz took possession of five new fire-fighting vehicles and a fireboat. |
• A PLF 1000/100 powder fire-fighting vehicle
• An ULF-LA 3500/1500/250 universal fire-fighting vehicle with extendable boom monitor
• An RF-S rescue vehicle
• An MTF crew transport vehicle
• An ELF operational command vehicle
The industrial fire brigade team headed by their chief, Gerhard Czeika, were the guests of honour at the ceremony, which ended with the launch of the fireboat. The event was also well attended by representatives of the media.
Speeches at the ceremony were given by:
• Joachim Grill (Chairman, AMI Group)
• Wolfgang Kaplan (Linz Professional Fire Brigade)
• Alois Affenzeller (Upper Austrian Fire Brigade Inspector)
• Julian Wagner (Chairman, Rosenbauer International AG)
The AMI industrial fire brigade safeguards some 40 companies, which are resident in the Linz Chemiepark, is responsible for preventive fire protection and also works independently in the service of the breathing apparatus industry. Apart from fire-fighting, the new vehicles will also serve to provide early warning, which is why the boom on the universal fire-fighting vehicle is equipped with both an infrared heat imaging and a video camera. This means that at the beginning of every operation, a safe bird’s eye view can be obtained prior to the initiation of the necessary, targeted measures.
