| CAFS – the Most Efficient Foam
Extinguishing Technology |
| |
CAFS is short for Compressed Air Foam System.
For CAFS the water-foam mixture is not expanded by suction action
of the nozzle (low expansion foam, medium expansion foam), or by
a fan system (light expansion foam generator), but by proportioning
compressed air |
 |
| |
|
The benefits:
- Excellent throw range and lightweight hose extend the action
radius
- Excellent adhesive quality (especially with AFFF) keeps the
extinguishing agent where you need it for cooling, separating
and penetrating. Despite stable foam, AFFF CAFS drys at the contact
surface, and forms a layer that is inpenetrable to vapours, thus
ensuring maximum efficiency in fighting fires with flammable
liquids.
- In the case of alcohol-resistant AFFF extinguishing agents,
stable expansion helps to create a polymer layer that protects
the AFFF film from being destroyed by polar fluids.
